This land-based learning project took place in the 2014/2015 school year in Mr. Janz's Grade 6-8 class. Students embarked on a project to understand an estuary next to their community. The goal was to provide an immersive learning environment where no one subject area was distinct from the other. The students themselves, with the guidance and direction of teachers, developed their own big ideas and constructed their own knowledge.
