MathCatcher: Mathematics Through Aboriginal Storytelling
This site focuses on showing students ways that math is used in everyday life and how it influences us.
MathCatcher: Stories and Movies
These stories offer opportunity for students to engage with math. The videos are in English, Cree, and Blackfoot.
Mathematical Origami
This site has easy to follow instructions for making simple to complex geometric shapes.
NumberNut
If you are looking for math information, stay on this site. You can start by choosing one of the math topics we cover.
Numberphile
A collection of engaging videos about mathematics and numbers.
TED: How to Organize, Add and Multiply Matrices
When you're working on a problem with lots of numbers, as in economics, cryptography or 3D graphics, it helps to organize those numbers into a grid, or matrix. Bill Shillito shows us how to work with matrices, with tips for adding, subtracting and multiplying (but not dividing!).
Traditional Indigenous Mathematics
From making tools and measuring trees to building canoes and cooking meals, Bryan Bellefeuille explores the many uses of math in traditional settings.
