In this lesson plan for grades 4-6, students are introduced to the idea that anger and excitement can make it harder for them to control how they act. Students read scenarios that portray two sides of an online conflict and consider how to resolve the situation, creating a media product to showcase their solutions.

This workshop "explores many of the online image issues teenage girls in grades 7-9 may encounter when they use digital media – particularly social networks." The workshop includes a video plus a facilitator's guide with detailed instructions and activities.

The Think Before You Share guide (created by MediaSmarts and Facebook) and poster provide tips for safe and ethical sharing online. There is also advice and support options for when things go wrong.

This Canadian research (2017) explores the process teens go through before sharing photos online. The research provides insights into the pressure teens are under to create very carefully constructed versions of themselves online.
