This is a virtual exhibit on the history and development of hockey in Canada. The site includes great hockey stories, rare photos, a list of books and links, and educational resources.

The Canadian Olympic School Program (COSP) resources are "pedagogically sound, classroom-friendly and adaptable student lessons written by teachers, for teachers." On this site, you will find lessons for many of the sports played at the Olympics.

Curling Canada has a collection of resources for educators wanting to introduce or coach curling. There is a teaching manual, a student workbook plus videos.

In this lesson that combines coding and snowflakes, students consider how and why humans collaborate with computers to make art. Students use algorithm components to create a 3D model of a snowflake from code.

This exhibit about The Hockey Sweater by Roch Carrier includes audio clips of Carrier describing life during his childhood, particularly as it pertains to the events in The Hockey Sweater. You can also listen to a short reading of the book itself.

Follow the instructions and use the patterns to cut out five different snowflakes.

Here's an interesting twist to the traditional snowflake. Download the PDF documents, print them out and cut along the lines. They are very intricate and may require a sharp hobby knife, so these might not be for younger students.
