Students will walk through different scenarios that will help them improve their critical thinking skills with word problems and also being able to add, carry (addition) subtract and borrow (subtraction).
Students investigate the seasons, explore the process of wool production, and discover how trade and barter have historically allowed people to satisfy their needs and wants.
Although money has officially replaced the ‘barter system’, bartering still happens. In this lesson, students will debate the relative merits of bartering and using money.
Students are introduced to the concept of “needs” vs. “wants,” and begin to consider the relationship between consumer goods and happiness. Teacher resources accompany this video
